During the Trump Administration, former Acting Assistant US Attorney General Jonathan Brightbill argued in federal court against some of the EPA's regulatory power. That case went to the US Supreme Court as West Virginia vs The Environmental Protection Agency with the Court eventually agreeing with Brightbill's arguement that the Agency exceeded it's legal power to regulate power plant emissions.

At issue in the case was not whether the government can regulate the emissions but whether EPA or Congress has the authority to determine what those rules are.

When shortages of anything that's a necessity happens, prices often spike. Is that just a matter of supply and demand or is it price gouging?
