Racing continues to get better every week at Emerald Downs! Entries for the upcoming three-day weekend exceed an average of eight horses per race each day. Saturday is at 9.2 starters per race, a figure not achieved here in many years. Precise Timing, trained by Kay Cooper, is the top horse entered this weekend. Last year’s undefeated Horse of the Meeting goes Monday, Memorial Day, in race 8.

Owner/breeder Ron Schmid and trainer Mike Morris join Joe and Vince. Schmid has been an active owner since Emerald Downs opened and has his homebred, Dynamic Dee Dee, in a maiden race this Saturday. Morris is from an extended family of horsemen from Oregon, including father Gary, and is excited for his small stable’s possibilities at Emerald Downs in 2025.
