On the 40th Anniversary of San Lorenzo Ruiz Devotion in the U.S., Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle of the Vatican Commission on Evangelization w held a Solemn Pontifical Mass at the St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City on June 1 at 10 a.m.
According to Fr. Erno Diaz, head of the Steering Committee organizing the event, joining Cardinal Tagle as the Main Celebrant is Archibishop Gabriele Caccia, Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations New York as the Principal Concelebrant.“God Almighty has blessed the Philippines with 500 years of Christianity that, in His Divine Providence, produced its first Saint in the person of San Lorenzo Ruiz,” said Fr Diaz. “In America, particularly in New York, 40 years of devotion to San Lorenzo has been a Time of Grace.”
