Twitch streamer Kai Cenat will be hit with a slew of charges for organizing a mob of young fans that sent several people to the hospital and left multiple police cruisers trashed Friday.

The influencer, who has more than 20 million followers, will face two counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly, as well as other unspecified charges, NYPD Chief of Department Jeffrey Maddrey said at a press conference.

The 21-year-old live streamer hadn’t obtained a permit for his gaming accessory giveaway in Union Square Friday afternoon, which quickly morphed into violent chaos as thousands of young fans stormed the surrounding streets.

Sixty-five others were taken into custody throughout the three-hour melee, 30 of whom were juveniles.

Videos show the rioters tossing cones, bottles and rocks at one another, as well as innocent passersby and responding officers.

According to Maddrey, at least three cops and four civilians were injured in the anarchy.

One 17-year-old was taken to the hospital with what authorities initially believed was a gunshot wound, but later discovered the injuries were sustained after the teen was hit with fireworks that a rioter tossed into the crowd.

“I personally saw other people leaving here with their heads split open, cuts bruises, lacerations … There’ll be more injuries before this evening’s over,” Maddrey said, adding that he himself was also hit in the head and in one of his legs.

I am saddened by the recent Decision of the Third Division of the Sandiganbayan in the case against me, People v. Edward S. Hagedorn in the Criminal Case for  Malversation of public property.

I would like to clarify that while the charge against me pertains to Malversation, this case does not involve any taking or misuse of public funds. It is about PNP-issued firearms which I was accused of not returning. However, I maintain my innocence of these charges and I maintain that I turned these firearms over to the PNP. I firmly believe that the evidence will eventually vindicate me. 

In my years of public service, I have never enriched myself at the expense of the Filipino people. I steadfastly maintain my innocence of these charges against me.

I will not allow this unfortunate judgment to dampen my faith in the justice system and the rule of law. I will pursue all the available remedies within the moral confines of the law. Thus, the sub judice rule precludes me from speaking further on the merits of this case. 

While this is ongoing, I will continue to perform my constitutionally mandated duties to represent the interests of the people of the Third District of Palawan in the House of Representatives.
