Hour 3 starts with M's broadcaster Aaron Goldsmith to talk Opening Day and how the road trip looked from his seat and how impressive Matt Brash looked. Gee Scott (97.3 KIRO) has a different perspective on the Seahawks signing Geno Smith and today's Jackie Robinson Day celebrations and the way we honor people after they're gone. Salk's takeaways from week 1 are: Veterans matter and we shouldn't be concerned about the kids.

  • Hour 2-Through one week the Mariners are _________? Brock Huard
Salk asked this question on Twitter and got a big variety of responses ranging from very good to very bad, but Justin said "unlucky" after what they've gone through with weather and a couple bad breaks. Maura says "familiar" with the one-run scores. Salk describes them like a boxer who took a couple punches but came back strong at the end. The Seahawks sign Geno Smith to a deal worth up to $7M that has Salk confused, and Brock Huard believes this will end the Baker Mayfield conversation.

The M's have gone through two separate opening day celebrations, but this one will be their own and everybody is pumped and ready to finally have baseball in Seattle after the delayed MLB opening day. Logan Gilbert had a good day against the White Sox but it was Jarred Kelenic & Haniger's HR yesterday that made up for the wind storm in Chicago and gives the M's some momentum heading into today. We revisit the conversation with Jerry Dipoto from yesterday's show to get his thoughts on the performance of the young players over the first week.

We've heard a lot about the QB's in this year's NFL Draft and highlighting the fact that the Seahawks may take someone in the 2nd round, so Maura put together a "Draft Dating Game" of the available QB's for Lefko & Justin to make their pick blindly. • Hour 3-Mariners adjustments needed, Michael Bumpus on Seahawks draft
It's too early to get lost in 'what-ifs' for the Mariners, but Lefko believes some adjustments clearly need to happen to get the offense going with this much talent in the lineup. The M's were also the recipient of a few bad breaks on hard-hit balls yesterday, but the RISP average is troubling. Michael Bumpus joins Lefko for his thoughts on how this year's draft will unfold for the Seahawks.
