Mike Salk

Bummer news out of Minnesota as we learn tomorrow's Opening Day game is delayed by a day due to weather. Tiger Woods is set to play in the Master's this weekend and Salk plays a couple clips from his upcoming interview with former Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner. A report from Philadelphia suggests the Seahawks were offered the #10 pick from the Jets but didn't entertain the idea before shutting down the offer. Will he be staying long-term?

Salk asked several people close to MLB what it was that put Julio over the edge and into the majors and "the way he handles success and failure" struck Salk the most. He's matured a lot for a 21 year-old player over his young career and deserves a shot at the big league level. Tuesdays are for accountability and we 'Take the L' for Bruce Arians, Coach K & more before our daily chat with Brock Huard.

Raw, pure, unadulterated JOY is what Salk believes Julio brings to the game of baseball - but most importantly - to the Mariners. After yesterday's news of Julio making the big league roster we got to see (and play the audio) all the behind-the-scenes views of how it went down between Scott Servais & Julio himself. Salk is souring on the idea of bringing Baker Mayfield and leaning more towards trading DK for draft picks.

Salk suspects we might hear about Julio being named to the Opening Day roster this afternoon and it turns out he was right as the Mariners make it official. We talk to Mariners Insider Shannon Drayer about the news and then hear from the man himself - Julio Rodriguez who calls into the Mike Salk Show to explain how he learned the news, who he called first and much, much more.

We are visited by Mariners President of Business Operations Catie Griggs to announce that the Opening Day is sold out! The conversation pivots to NFL as Salk says he crunched some film this weekend on Malik Willis and Matt Corral so now he wants a title. Guru was taken so he's going with aficionado. Justin and Maura argue that QB enthusiast would be more fitting but Salk runs with aficionado and gives us his evaluations. Brock Huard shares his thoughts on Salk's QB analysis.

Julio Rodriguez & Jarred Kelenic had a heck of a day at Spring Training and Salk argues that Julio should absolutely make the opening day roster after he did everything that was asked of him. He also believes the key to the M's success in 2022 starts with Kelenic and then goes to the starting rotation. Maura takes us "Around the Weekend" of sports to learn about NCAA basketball final four results, Sean Manaea signing with the Padres and Tiger Woods practicing for 24th Masters.
