Captain Mike Weinhofer shares some of the crazy stories from being a charter captain in Key West Florida and discusses some of the rich history of the area. Mike Weinhofer began fishing with my father at the age of 5 in New Jersey where he learned to fish on his charter boat. He fished numerous tournaments together in many incredible locations and soon Mike and his father shared a love of fishing. He caught his first sailfish on the Gone Fishin out of Islamorada, FL when he was 7 and was hooked for life. He told his father that someday he would live in the Florida Keys and fish for a living. Twenty-eight years ago, he made that dream come true, moved to Key West, and began chartering his first light tackle fishing boat. He was living the dream, fishing from Venezuela to Cuba, the Bahamas to Maryland, the Outer Banks, and all over Mexico. Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Through the years he has worn many hats including time as a fishing guide, boat salesman, TV host, outdoor writer, product designer, tournament fisherman, speaker, radio host and podcaster to name a few. Ross fishes ice-out to ice-up on the Great Lakes. He spends the majority of the year walleye fishing on Lake Erie’s Western and Central basins.
