I love the sky around sunset. It's a magical time. This track attempts to describe the energy and beauty of this special part of the day!

I think this is the best track that I've produced so far. It was really inspired by the experience of coming across people who are so full of love, courage and action that they inspire hope in others. I hope you enjoy it. (This is slightly revised and shorter version in better quality; the mix is has not been changed)

For Kuba.

I'm not quite sure how to categorise this music. Originally it was going to be Orchestral Trance but it took on a life of its own. This track is quite different from much of my earlier music: I've spent a lot more time focussing on sound design and this track is the result of that effort. Listening to it, I think that it would probably sound better if its structure was a bit simpler, but I've spent too much time on it for now and I want to move on. But I might return to it in the future.

It's the first in a series of planned tracks inspired by the beautiful sunsets over the Atlantic Ocean. just a few minutes from my home. All comments welcome!

An instrumental version of Beacons of Hope

The first track in a new project celebrating the best qualities in each of us. (This is a reissue to remove a few infelicitous seconds midway through the track!)

i think this is the best version of this track. It was inspired by images of firefighters, special military units and others -- including volunteers -- who've been fighting the forest fires in Tenerife and elsewhere. I, like many others, am grateful that in this world there are people who risk their lives in service to their communities. The singer is a software artifact, created and polished using several different programmes.

This is a track ispired by a picture of a fireman. This is an experimental version with lyrics, sung by my computer using three different bits of software in an attempt to mimic a human voice. I'm sure a real person could do better!

A track about someone who smies in th face of personal danger

A track inspired by my partner who encourages me to pursue this passion. The melody is based on Beethoven's German Dance No9 in E flat major. However this track is in G Major and the melody is in 4/4 time not the 3/4 of Beethoven's day. It also has a completely different set of chords. Although I tried to stay close to the original, every bar has two or three extra notes. The chord changes led to further changes in the melody; this and the extra notes mean that it's very different from the original. It was a useful exercise though because it gave me an important insight into how Beethoven treated the popular music of his day.

QT is a friend who likes to take long walks and to run. QT can outrun anyone I know. She has a wonderful loving, friendly personality and is a delight to be with... The percussion section is a litte bit different from the normal trance beat..
