Mike's Unedited Let's Plays!

KICK THE CHILD!

So I've got a second small person, and while she's having a wee sleep on me I decided to natter into my phone while playing this month's calendar game, Golden Axe.

Personally prefer Golden Axe to Streets of Rage if I'm doing single player. Now I need to see if I can balance a baby and my ludicrous volume of R E Howard's Conan stories. Quick tangent, Howard is uncomfortably racist at times in a way that seems racist even for the time of publication.

So you know when you open an old save and you have no idea where you are or what's happening? Yeah this is half an hour of that.

Feels like it's all slowed down but admittedly my life is all over the place. You might have noticed all the bonus episodes I made yonks ago, well I'm still waiting for baby number 2 to come on out. We're a week late now it's just ridiculous, she's got to learn some punctuality! Also sproglet number one gave me a cold that lead to an EAR INFECTION! Of all the things to get as an adult, sitting there in the doctor's waiting room dripping red out of my ear terrifying my elderly relatives. Mad.

Anyway this is all in aid of forcing Bill, who is on many podcasts, but more importantly is donating to motor neuron disease in increasing amounts based on how many people start/finish the 7th Saga on the discord for the RPG Years podcast.

Honestly it's a pretty good discord regardless as lots of people are there talking about JRPGs, often in the form of one of Bill's many video game book clubs. It's kind of startling how well it's all taken off, really fun.

Anyway I hope this is at least mildly amusing. I'm fairly sure this month is where I fell in and out of love with Spideks. 🕷️

More for the "going to be busy with new baby" bank.

Vagrant Story is a good game isn't it? It's right good it is.

So I'm mucking around in Grandia Isekai and it's just a delightful conversation over to the Gameboy Colour. The graphics are lovely, the music is great, the battle system is fun.

Shame the story is a bunch of Gaiden wank but hey... Can't expect too much.

So I'm anticipating that I'm going to have zero time around this point as I've got a new small coming and that early period isn't a great time in terms of being alone EVER. So enjoy this attempt to work out how best to record my phone from my phone. There are some really basic mistakes made, it's frankly embarrassing.

Anyway the games are Asterix and Mega Man Legends 2, they're both fun but flawed in their own ways, one more than the other.

Pink haired jumpy boy saves chicks, feeds apes, meets centegenarians.

Okay so I rush through an important scene because I wanted to use my psp to play a different game. WHO CAN BLAME ME IT'S GOING TO BE EPIC!

Surprise boss fight with flat results. Lloyd just isn't a great antagonist and the further I go in this story the less this plot makes sense from a structural standpoint..
