Mild Takes NBA Show

Matt and Squid are back to basics discussing the Celtics two incredibly impressive wins over the Lakers and Grizzlies this week. After pronouncing them dead to rights earlier this week, we have turned a full 180 which is quite typical of us.

Right before the 15 minute mark the boys dive in to the phenomenon that’s sweeping the NBA world, the debut for one of the most hyped up players in NBA history, Zion Williamson.

At the 20:30 mark of the episode we go around the league and discuss potential trades for the Mavericks and a look into the playoff battle for the 8 seed in both playoffs.

To wrap up the show starting at the 37 minute mark, Squid and Matt pick who they think should represent the conferences in the All Star Game.

The boys are Squid-less today as Matt is joined by Luke and Craig to discuss the insane weekend in the NFL recapping the 4 games from Wild Card Weekend, we discuss the Bills tough loss to the Texans around the 2:30 minute mark.

Around the 11 minute mark the boys dive into the Patriots devastating loss at the hands of the Titans Saturday night that has left New England as a whole in shambles. We figure out who was to blame for the loss, and what’s next for Brady, Belichick, and the Patriots as a whole.

A little after the 30 minute mark the boys discuss the Vikings big upset over the Saints in the Superdome.

And we wrap up the NFL weekend at the 43 minute mark discussing the battle of the birds in Philly at the 43 minute mark.

The boys are BACK after their extended holiday break to run through the NFL Wild Card Weekend’s slate of games. We varied off of the NBA this week but lots of NBA stuff to get to next week when we resume our normal schedule.

We start off giving our best bets and our picks for BUF @ HOU, TEN @ NE, MIN @ NO, and SEA @ PHI. We then go through and complete our brackets for what Matt, Squid, and Luke think will happen in the 2020 NFL Playoffs.

We then end with a mailbag discussing the 5 most famous athletes of the decade.

The boys give their take on the latest Cs loss to the 76ers! The usual 3 tid bits around the league are covered and then they talk about the best basketball movies ever created. Finally the episode is wrapped up by a snizzy snake draft about the best holiday music. Enjoy!

Matt and Squid start off the show by getting into a Star Wars discussion because somehow Squid has never seen a single Star Wars movie prior to this week. Matt also incorrectly says that Phantom Menace was released in 1991, Matt is bad at talking and being cool and smart. They also go off about books and gasoline or some dumb crap for a while.

At the 10 minute mark the boys briefly discuss the Celtics dominating win over the Cleveland Cavaliers from Monday night, and discuss some possibilities for which team Kevin Love could go to in the trade market.

Around the 19 minute mark the boys give their takeaways from the week of games as well as preview the upcoming NBA slate for the rest of the week and the weekend, including discussions about the Blazers, Wizards, Raptors, the LA teams, and Heat! Somewhere in here Matt says the Astros played in the NBA and won 2 World Series. Sorry, I might be drunk. Also whenever I record I put these notes in the description so people don’t think I’m stupid, but now I just look pathetic. Move on.

At the 33 minute mark Ryan Brown of Mouthin’ Off Sports comes to join us to discuss which NCAA players to watch this season if you are interested in doing some scouting for the NBA next season. Great insight from Ryan and we appreciate him for his time.

At the 54:30 mark Matt and Squid end the show by discussing their top 5 shooters in NBA history and a new segment is debuted titled “I Don’t Understand” where we discuss non-sports related things that we simply do not understand. I recommend skipping to this part of the pod if you don’t plan on listening to the entire episode lol it gets off the rails.
