Too late, the group discovers they have entered a realm they should have kept out of. A letter reveals part of the curse of this strange land. In a village named Barovia, they encounter a mother who grieves for her lost daughter and a brother who wants to save his sister from the “Devil Strahd”. Although they cannot see the bars, they are now well and truly trapped.

Doctor Alistair Crowley, singer Mekaria Jungdaso and priest of the Raven Queen Tulani’nix all find themselves in an inn in the town of Beregost. They stop in this sleepy town just for the night before continuing their way. What starts as a strange rumour becomes all too real when the group do a tarokka reading to lure the mysterious Madam Eva.
