General Brice Oligui Nguema has been named as Gabon's transitional leader. Army officers took power in a coup in the early hours of yesterday morning. Appearing on television, the officers said they had annulled the results of Saturday's election. The officers say they have arrested one of President Ali Bongo's sons for treason.
