In today’s episode, we have the privilege of hosting Joel Martycz who has been separated from the Air Force for 10 years. He shares with us how Veterans need to stop majoring in the minors when it comes to the military transition and start focusing on developing who you are as a person. Joel shares his philosophy about “wherever you go, you go” and what the veteran should actually be focusing on during the military transition.

Joel is an Operations and Supply Chain executive in the Healthcare Industry with nearly 20 years of experience in manufacturing, repair, distribution, and fulfillment environments. He served in the Air Force for 8 years and utilized the GI Bill to earn multiple degrees to assist him in growing and developing in the civilian sector. Joel often shares tips and tools for the military transition on LinkedIn and volunteers his time to helping veterans find their way in the civilian sector.

John Helm is a 20 year Marine veteran that started as an aviation Electrician on CH-53E helicopters and naval aircrew. He entered the into the MECEP program, earned an Aerospace Engineering degree from the University of Maryland and earned an aviation contract. John graduated TBS in the top 5% and went on to flight school, earning an F-18 pilot designation. Jennifer Vollbrecht is a United States Marine Corps Veteran. She served from 2004-2009 as a Helicopter Crew Chief and Door Gunner (CH-46E). Jennifer lives in California with her husband and two children. She is the owner of J Vollbrecht Consulting and serves as Board Member for Women Veteran’s Giving, an organization that provides training, mentorship and grant money to women veteran entrepreneurs. She is most passionate about veteran re-integration causes.
