“O, how the turn tables have turned…” - Michael Scott (& Allison)

This week, Hannah takes over the script for one of HER childhood favorites, The Parent Trap (1998), and apparently she had a lot to say about it.

Before we even get to Camp Walden, Hannah tells us how this movie fueled her childhood maladaptive daydreaming, complete with pacing around the house, talking to herself, imaginary long-lost twins, dramatic reunions, and entire storylines that existed exclusively in her head.

Allison did NOT do this as a kid... and she’ll tell you why. 😂

Then we rewind The Parent Trap, where two girls meet at summer camp, discover they’re identical twins, switch places, and decide the obvious solution to their parents’ 11-year divorce is to get them back together.

Along the way, Hannah unexpectedly gets a lesson in:

• Phone booths and collect calls
• How a Disney movie is apparently teaching Hannah about poker
• DIY ear piercing, because Claire’s wasn’t always an option
• Meredith Blake, who may be the villain... but has incredible style

This week, we added another generation to Millennial Meets Gen Z! Allison's dad joins us for Braveheart (1995), lends his movie-trailer voice to our new intro, and proudly rocks his “Awesome Like My Daughter” T-shirt for the occasion. 😎

Hannah isn't exactly a fan of historical movies, especially when they come with nearly three hours of battles, blood, and violence. But throw in a good love story? Now you might have her attention.

We talk Mel Gibson, William Wallace, the massive battle scenes, historical movies, and whether Braveheart deserves its reputation as a '90s classic.

Then we dive into the history the movie definitely took some liberties with, including the real William Wallace, the Battle of Stirling Bridge, and the good, the bad, and the complicated story of Robert the Bruce.

🦖 Life finds a way.

This week, we revisit one of the greatest blockbusters ever made: Jurassic Park (1993).

Somewhere along the way, we discover that Hannah is apparently short for Hammond, because given the opportunity... she'd absolutely build a dinosaur park of her own and may have completely missed the point of the movie. 🤯

We talk about what Jurassic Park got right (and wrong) about paleontology, what scientists have tried to bring back from extinction, and discuss why this movie is still a classic more than 30 years later.
