Coming Home From Iraq is all about us, United States Soldiers, getting ready to pack up, and make the drive from Camp Speicher to Kuwait and arriving home at Fort Hood, Texas in March of 2004 after a 12 month deployment. Washing windows on my truck in a dust storm really happened! Details inside! We had no armored vehicles and IED's (Improvised Explosive Devices) or roadside bombs are now a threat. Hear what we did to counter that threat. The relief we felt when we made it to Kuwait was incredible. The wash rack experience while trying to wash my truck and have it certified to go home was awful and exhausting. The plane ride home is an adventure, but getting to hug my wife and son is the best feeling in the world! Hear all of that and more as season 1 starts to wind down.

Friday Night Fights is all about United States Army Soldiers blowing off some steam and raising morale while competing in boxing matches in Iraq in 2003. General Odierno, our commanding General, even showed up for a night of fights and called a United States Senator to listen to the crowd. I had to perform guard duty a couple of times, and escorted the Porta Potty sucker truck that ended up being hilarious. The formerly known as The Washington Redskins cheerleaders paid us a visit through the USO during the fall of 2003. I got a chance to go home for R and R for 14 days which was great but also hard to leave my family again.

Grant shares with us what it was like coming home from intense urban combat to out of the United States Marine Corps within a few months. Combine that with getting married and starting college in the fall of 2005. He had no idea he had PTSD or how to deal with any of his symptoms or issues. Luckily he had an incredible support structure in his immediate and extended family to help him through some of the darkest times in his life. VA appts were over an hour and a half away, and the doctors has no idea how to deal with someone from the current conflict. Part 6 is a tough episode. We are incredibly lucky to hear Grant's detailed story of his time in Fallujah in 2004. He describes what it is like to lose friends, and teammates. When US Marines admit they are exhausted and tired, I assure you that you have no idea what that really means. They do not give in to tired and exhaustion. United States Marines are the toughest fighting force this planet has ever known. Even they have limits and struggles. After all, they are human. We begin to hear Grant's struggles as they finish up the battle of Fallujah and prepare to come home.

Part 5 is all about the United States Marines Battle of Fallujah, Iraq in 2004. Grant shares details about the advances, the changes in tactics the enemy uses from the previous battle, how the American Commanders change their own tactics, and how death and destruction is everywhere. The "prepping" of the battle field was the best fireworks display he has ever seen. Grant describes the heroics that are occurring all around them due to the fierce fighting. True to Marines words and actions, many wounded do not want to leave the battle.

Downed Aircraft Recovery Team is an episode where I share what it is like having to recover aircraft that have been shot down, or crashed for a mechanical reason. We had to drag one out of the water near baghdad. There was another one down in a dry river bed that we had to recover. That was an emotional one for me. We even helped some Iraqi farmers move some Iraqi helicopters out of their fields.

Part 3 with Grant is all about his decision to extend his contract instead of being "stop-lossed" which is the Government saying you can't get out anyway. By extending, he was essentially guaranteeing himself the opportunity to attend the advanced sniper school. He shares what that is like as they mentally and physically prepare to head back to Iraq. Specifically Fallujah, Iraq where they will see some of the toughest fighting since vietnam.
