The Milwaukee School of Engineering recently opened the brand new Dwight and Dian Diercks Computational Science Hall. Diercks Hall will focus on artificial intelligence, deep learning, cyber security, robotics, cloud computing and other next-generation technologies. MBJ reporter Sari Lesk spoke with MSOE president John Walz about Diercks Hall and other updates on the campus.  Later, Sari talks with fellow MBJ reporter Rich Kirchen about his latest reporting on the Democratic National Convention.

A major transportation needs for the 2020 DNC in Mke will be more than 400 motor coaches to move thousands of attendees. WI bus companies including Go Riteway will shift buses, drivers and mechanics to metro Milwaukee to meet the demand. Brad Wallace of Go Riteway joins Rich Kirchen to discuss the logistics and challenges. Later, Rich talks with the newest reporter at the Milwaukee Business Journal, Margaret Naczek. She joined MBJ from USA Today Network Wisconsin where she was a sports reporter.

MBJ reporter Sari Lesk talked with Kirk Williams, a managing director at Cypress Equities, the management firm for Bayshore in Glendale. He talked about what to expect from the upcoming redevelopment of the shopping center. Sari also interviewed Kevin Goudzwaard, the owner of Milwaukee Candle Co. He’s planning a “candle bar” where people can have some drinks while creating their own scented candle.

Than Sean Ryan visited the headquarters of Bader Philanthropies to hear from president Dan Bader and Katie Sanders, executive director of Safe and Sound. Bader and Sanders gave Ryan a better idea of economic development in the neighborhoods outside of downtown that are so important to the city’s future, and their future plans.
