Trust in media has hit a new low in the USA and pretty much everywhere else, according to a new Trust Barometer 2021 poll from Edelman. Not exactly welcome news to our PR firm, or to the journalists we engage with every day. Less trust is a bad thing, all around.   

That said, facts are facts -- and in this case, perception in poll results may be reflecting reality all too well. Is the media business broken? How have social media, ideology and activism helped lead to a news culture that fosters agendas and narratives over a shared reality?  Mind Meld PR Founder Jonathon Narvey talks with Capital Daily Managing Editor Jimmy Thompson about why this is happening and how we get out of it.
