“Step on a crack. Break your mama’s back.” “Don’t ever open an umbrella inside.” “When cooking w/salt. Always throw a pinch over your left shoulder for good luck.” These are just a few of the sayings. We know them by heart and even fear the consequences if we break them. Today I’ll be talking about the origins of some of the most famous/common ones. Some notable people that believe in them. And, if they actually work?

The weather. “The state of the atmosphere at a place and time as regards heat, dryness, sunshine, wind, rain, etc.”  It’s one of the many focal conversations of our everyday lives. It's that thing that will decide what we're going to wear. Will it be hell on earth or colder than my heart on any other day?

It’s used as a speaking point for both sides on the political table. Each spinning their own narratives about how the other side is using it to their advantage. But maybe it’s just a charade?

What if your job requires you to sleep where you work? And each night. You’ll be preyed upon by a predator that no one will ever see or hear. And, the only evidence will be the harrowing cries of the victims being dragged to their final resting place.

But is this real or just a story to scare the new workers?
