Education is what we do in Watauga County.
Local educators are not only training the workforce of tomorrow, but these professionals comprise the staffs of two of the three largest employers in our area. The High Country is also the beneficiary of millions of dollars in recurring revenue from our post-secondary population and the campuses that host those students have invested well over $500 million dollars in infrastructure improvements over the last decade.
We will discuss our next State of the Community series discussion focused on local education as part of this week's Mind Your Business.
We will also visit with Elisha Childers and Garrett Shore of The Children's Council of Watauga County. They give us details on the upcoming Fabulous Fathers fundraiser, but we also discuss how child care access is a major factor in the discussion about the ability for local workers to reengage in the labor market.
Mind Your Business is produced weekly thanks to a partnership between Appalachian Commercial Real Estate and High Country Radio.
