No Nonsense Helpful Way to Gain Mindfulness
Where does Mindfulness for Beginners rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
In terms of mindfulness books, it's at the tippy top. I need something quick, easy to understand, and simple. This book was all three.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Me! I was able to begin a mindfulness routine right away!
What about Tia Sorensens performance did you like?
I loved the narrator, she was crystal clear.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I was impressed that I could begin a mindfulness practice right away, without any prep time or complicated instructions.
Any additional comments?
The best part of this book was that it didn't over-complicate what is a very simple inner process, something that happens in the mind. There are periods of instruction, but it is not a moment by moment meditation audio. The author has a number of other books, so a guided meditation might be among them. I plan on listening to her book on letting go too. The sample included with this audio book was terrific. I was given this book for an honest review.
Short and to-the-point starter guide
This was a nice, compact, simple introduction to mindfulness meditation. I had no prior knowledge of the philosophy behind mindfulness meditation and this gave a clear basic background to it, so I now have a starting point to research more. I was given this book for an honest review and appreciated the 'to the point' nature of its main body. It made mindfulness meditation seem less of a mystery and more approachable. Each chapter starts off telling you what it's about so you know what to expect and ends with a summary. The last bit of the book also has info on some of the author's other works which sound like they might be worth checking out.
This isn't a meditation walk through, but it does present some instructions that you can use to quickly get started. The narrator did a good job. She had a clear, calm, pleasant voice which considering I was listening to this while attempting to unwind from my day, and considering the subject matter of the book makes her an excellent choice.
Great introduction to Mindfulness
This short intro gives you the tools to get started. I plan on listening to another of the author's books, Letting Go, as well.
