MS Diary | Thursday, 1/11/24 | Solution for sleep issues

I'm just gonna get up earlier. As much as I want sleep and NEED the recovery, the efforts to get it are wasteful. Instead of repeatedly going to the restroom, I can start my day.

In my entrepreneurial quest, this is huge. Today is day one.

MS Diary | Wednesday, 1/10/24 | Another rough night

First, I apologize for my absence. I canceled the TikTok Gratitude Journal University because I wasn't feeling well enough. 

I'm not any better after another rough night. Spasms are vicious, forcing whimpers. I convinced my wife to push me out the bed for relief. Yup, that serious. 

What's my secret to recovery? What do I do on these rough nights? Cannabis. At least I can be calm, work on my business or laugh at something.

I'm getting back. I'm being careful but I'm coming back today, 7pm CST, TikTok: @kendrickavant. 

Yoga.

Meditation. 

Breathing exercises. 

Using bands for weights.

If you can’t GET better, BE better | Sunday, 1/7/24

This is the first Gratitude Presentation of 2024 but it will not be the last. I'm the Professor of Gratitude, Kendrick Avant, my intention is define the difference between being grateful and showing gratitude. Overstanding the fundamental element that separates two similar concepts will lessen negative thoughts. 

I do this to change the perspective of Wheelchair Users. I am this to improve the mental health of people with disabilities and limitations. I know this because I have Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis.

MS Diary | Monday, 1/8/24 | Why I slept on floor

Last night was ROUGH. Nerve pain? Yes. Spasm? Absolutely. Spasticity? Terribly consistent. 

The floor was my best option in case of accidents.

MS Diary | Friday, 1/5/24 | The bounce back begins

My sleep improved but the blank restroom trips were playing with my emotions. This morning i realized why. I drank less water because I'm working on the phones and the issues with Workforce Management. 

My bounce back plan? Wife prepped lunch so i can eat then lay on my stomach. That'll help with back pain and pressure sores. Then, movement will improve which eases transition to the restroom. *taps temple*

MS Diary | Thursday, 1/4/24 | Sleep AWFUL but…

I woke up 6x in 7 hrs. Terrible but I have an Interview this morning. I'll definitely be ready since I'm up so early. 

MS Diary | Tuesday, 1/2/23 | New Year's Goals

One, focus on the website as the priority business. Two, improve the podcast with consistent episodes. Three, LESS time in my wheelchair. I feel really good about what I'm doing, where I'm going.

Aight. *fist bump* Let's do this right.

Leave the World Behind (Netflix, 2023)

I saves this movie purely on the strength of Mahersha Ali and Julia Roberts. *hands up* 

I'm normally not attracted to SHTF (Shit Hit the Fan) films. Especially big ones because the endings are so inconclusive. This one was scary because that 2hr movie length too. I mean, be honest, nobody wants to spend 2hrs watching something and come away without a conclusion. Good, bad, meh, whatever but end the damn thing. i got over that reading comments, reviews and hearing my favorite couple hype it for weeks.

I DO enjoy the messages of SHTF movies. Discussions of what people should do, will do, won't do are wildly entertaining. Leave the World Behind dug in with this concept. On the surface, you're caught up in the audacity of characters. Then, the storyline develops certain people and you're picking sides, choosing friends. Somehow, it slides the family relationships into the conversation, husband-wife, father-daughter, sister-brother, they all make caneos. The film challenges your ethics, questions your fears. It was quite impressive. 

In the end, I grade Leave the World Behind as B+, 87 of 100.
