Episode #001 — Part 2 of 2: Welcome to Our Sankofa Village
In Part 1, we began our journey to understand how we got here and where we're going together.
Now, in Part 2, we slow the conversation down.
What does Mindset Reset mean? Why UBUNTU? Why Sankofa? And what exactly is Our Sankofa Village?
Join Gregory Norris as we explore what these words mean, why knowing our history matters, and how learning from our past can help us imagine and build our future together.
Our Sankofa Village is about more than remembering history. It's about creating a space to listen, learn, share our stories, examine our thinking, and grow together.
Through a Black Lens.

How did Mindset Reset UBUNTU and Our Sankofa Village begin?
In Episode #001, Gregory Norris shares the journey that led from a search for better ways to connect Black communities with information and opportunity to a larger realization: our communities also need spaces where we can tell our own stories, examine our experiences, preserve what we know, and help shape where we go next.
Through conversations about the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), workforce development, community knowledge, the Black Census, and more, Gregory introduces the questions that helped give rise to Mindset Reset UBUNTU — Through a Black Lens and Our Sankofa Village.
This is Part 1 of a two-part introduction. Part 1 tells the story of how we got here. In Part 2, we enter the Village together and explore what Mindset Reset, UBUNTU, Sankofa, Through a Black Lens, and Reset • Reclaim • Rise mean—and how you can become part of the conversation.
Real Conversations. Lasting Change.
Reset. Reclaim. Rise.
This is "Our Sankofa Village," and we are creating an online collaboration and learning environment.
