Leaders now more than ever have to constantly deal with changes and uncertainties. We are living in a so-called VUCA environment. VUCA stands for volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity. On today’s episode we have Krys Burnette, a well-known culture transformation and organization design thought-leader. How to spark intrinsic motivation - my lessons from 9 years of leadership roles leading volunteers

Intrinsic motivation is incredibly important for the successes of your company. In every aspect of it.

Motivated employees will simply be happier doing their job, which automatically leads to a better working environment. Therefore teams can work more efficiently as they align with their colleagues and company’s vision, translating into a big impact on the organization and its success and people's lives and careers.

As this topic is so important I want to share with you the key points that I learned in over 9 years of motivating volunteers and testing methods to spark intrinsic motivation with a global team and organization. These concepts become incredibly powerful if you apply them to the corporate environment because employees are craving purpose and a strong vision and a leader that knows how to bring out the best in each individual, while connecting individual purpose with the organization's purpose.

Whenever you have a creative idea it feels like a bad one at first because it is against your rational way of thinking. That is totally normal but you should do it anyway. Otherwise there wouldn’t be any creativity in the world.

These are the words from my interview guest Tiankai Feng. He can tell you a story or two about this struggle. But luckily he decided to go after his idea of approaching data analytics in a creative way.

Tiankai is a Senior Director for product data governance at Adidas. Apart from that he is also a Creator for LinkedIn where he shares his own songs with the world.

In this episode he talks about how he found his own way of making data analytics more fun and approachable and why it is so important to combine Data with Storytelling and the human part of it.

Furthermore we talked about Tiankai's way of leading his team.

In our time as colleagues, I have always found him to be a great role model through his positive attitude and kind leadership style.
