Baron-Cohen et al. (1997) aimed to find out whether the âReading the Mind in the Eyesâ task could successfully detect deficits in theory of mind in individuals with autistic spectrum disorder.
A secondary aim of the experiment was to discover whether any gender differences exist in âtheory of mindâ abilities in neurotypical people.
