Here I am asking a question of why some Blacks joined with the white youths of that day, particularly when they had the Civil Rights Movement as well as the more militant movements that expressed issues which plagued Black Communities. I also try to articulate why I think other Blacks joined in not necessarily with the white youths themselves, but why they were drawn to the philosophy, and the ideas that were being expressed.

With this introduction I will clarify what I perceive as the unwarranted harshness that the countercultural youth were getting from "mainstream America" itself.
