Hiii, this is Amy from ChineseMandarinCafe.com. You are listening to a very special episode today. In this episode, I want to invite you to join my FREE 10-Day Beginners’ Bootcamp challenge where I teach you 10 phrases that will lay a solid foundation for your Chinese learning journey so that you can start building deeper connections with your loved ones or maybe even meet new people just like how I’ve met so many wonderful people because of knowing Mandarin Chinese.

This challenge is completely free. The teaching sessions are streamed live on YouTube where you will be able to interact in the chatbox. Then we have a group practice session on Zoom where you will be speaking. This challenge runs from October 1st to the 11th. However, all the training videos will be up until the end of October. I will also be checking your homework and provide feedback until the end of October. So it is not too late to join us.

Do you ever feel alone when you are learning Chinese, or maybe you feel like there is no one around you who can speak Chinese with you? If that is you, keep listening. I might just have the perfect solution for you. 

Hiiii, in this episode, I am not going to be teaching anything. Instead, I want to share this really fun and new learning opportunity with you. I have been a Duolingo Event Host since March this year, what that means is I host one free interactive event once a month. And... interactive means yes, you get to talk. I want to create a safe and comfortable place for you to practice Chinese. And this month, I have been very lucky to have the opportunity to help Duolingo test their Paid Event feature.

I am still learning how to host events and gaining experience as trying to adjust the lesson materials in a group situation is way more difficult than in a 1-1 tutoring session. I don't do any promotions for my 1-1 tutoring so Duolingo is the only place where you will see a special rate for group events as I test their Paid Event feature. 

I love 1-1 tutoring the most because nothing can replace the experience of really getting to know my learner and create something that helps him or her the most.  However, my schedule is limited, and I can't help as many students as I would love to. So group events are the perfect solution to help multiple learners at the same time and sometimes you even make friends with other learners!

Even though I am new to hosting group events, I can see the benefits of being in a group session. As an event host, I do my best to make sure everyone gets a chance to talk, and I make sure that we go over any new words or sentences brought up by other learners so that you will not feel lost.
