Part 3 of our Mini Series on Core Concepts shares our conviction that “Brownie Points are Evil!” 

If you’re patronizingly offering tokens of affection when your other does something right, you are training them in behavior modification only. You’re saying that motivations and intentions don’t matter as long as you look good on the outside. You’re telling them to only do the right thing when they’ll be seen and can therefore be rewarded. 

Bad ideas.

Brownies are delicious, but brownie points are evil.
