Gold Fields publishes industry-first CFD report . JSE- and NYSE-listed Gold Fields on Monday released its inaugural climate-related financial disclosure (CFD) report for 2018.

The company is the first mining company in South Africa to publicly endorse the Financial Services Board’s Task Force on CFD, which is an industry-led, voluntary disclosure platform developed as a partnership between industry and financial institutions, investors and stock exchanges.

Presidential Climate Change Commission to be just-transition crucible – Creecy . Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Minister Barbara Creecy has confirmed that the Presidential Climate Change Commission, which was proposed as part of agreements reached at the 2018 Jobs Summit, will be established and will become a key platform for facilitating South Africa’s ‘just transition’ to a low-carbon economy. Sola to install solar PV plants at three Harmony mines . Solar technology developer Sola Group has signed a heads of terms agreement with gold miner Harmony Gold for the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants at three of its mines in the Free State. Sola Group head of energy storage and microgrid services Daniel Goldstuck told delegates at the Dwyka Technology Showcase, in Sandton, on Friday, that the solar PV plants would total 26 MW when combined.
