The bearded geek is with me this week, and we are finally sitting down to talk about a few characters from Victor Hugo and the lessons they have for us today. Joe Dea and I are discussing the characters of Bishop Myriel from Les Misérables, Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and the Disney add-on of the Archdeacon of Notre Dame. What do these characters and stories, written by a 19th-century French Humanist, have for us in the modern-day American Church.
