ALEX: Hey Minneapolis! Welcome back to the Minneapolis Roundup, your weekly guide to the best food, business, and events our incredible cities have to offer. I’m your host, Alex, and it is a gorgeous Wednesday, June 10th, 2026. The patios are packed, the lakes are sparkling, and it finally feels like summer is here to stay.
This episode is brought to you by our friends at mplsveganhub.com, your complete guide to plant-based eating in the Twin Cities, and mncannabishub.com, your source for all things cannabis culture and events in Minnesota.
Coming up on the show: a legendary supper club makes a triumphant return, a local company turns lake life into high fashion, and we’ve got the details on the can’t-miss festival of the month. Let’s get into it.

(0:45) - FOOD & DINING
ALEX: Alright, first up, let's talk food. For anyone who loves a taste of classic Minnesota, this is big news. After closing its doors back in 2023, the legendary Loon's Nest Supper Club in Linden Hills is officially back. And folks, the glow-up is real.
The new owners have performed a miracle. They’ve managed to restore the iconic, wood-paneled, cozy cabin vibe we all loved, but they’ve given it a 21st-century refresh. The worn-out vinyl booths are now plush leather, the lighting is warm and intimate, and the bar is turning out some of the most creative craft cocktails I’ve seen this year. Think Old Fashioneds infused with smoked maple and gin cocktails with locally foraged botanicals.
But the heart of the menu? It’s still pure supper club. The relish tray is back and better than ever, the popovers are still impossibly fluffy, and the prime rib is melt-in-your-mouth perfection. They’re working with local farms like Peterson Craftsman Meats for their steaks and getting produce from the Linden Hills Farmers' Market just down the road.
It’s this perfect blend of nostalgia and modern culinary craft that’s making it the toughest reservation to snag in town. My advice? Set an alert for 30 days out and be ready to click. It is absolutely worth the effort for a true taste of Minnesota history, reimagined.
And of course, while the Loon's Nest has some great veggie sides, if you’re looking for a dedicated, fully plant-based dining experience, you have to check out our sponsor. For the best vegan dining in the city, from casual cafes to fine dining, mplsveganhub.com has you covered with maps, reviews, and new restaurant alerts.

(2:45) - BUSINESS & MARKETING
ALEX: From dining to design, let’s spotlight a local business that is absolutely crushing it. I want to talk about Superior Sailcloth Company, based out of the old industrial district in Northeast Minneapolis.
If you haven’t seen their stuff yet, you will soon. Their concept is brilliant: they partner with sailing clubs on Lake Minnetonka, Lake Superior, and all across the Great Lakes to acquire old, retired boat sails. You know, the massive, durable, weather-beaten sails that have seen years of sun and storms. Instead of letting them end up in a landfill, Superior Sailcloth upcycles them into stunning, one-of-a-kind bags, dopp kits, and jackets.
Each piece has a tag telling you which lake and which boat the sail came from, so you might be carrying a tote bag that was once the jib on a sailboat that raced in the Apostle Islands. How cool is that?
Their marketing win here is their storytelling. Their Instagram and TikTok are phenomenal. They don’t just show you the finished product; they show you the journey. You see them hauling in a massive, crinkled sail, the design team mapping out cuts to preserve a cool logo or seam, and the final stitching process. It connects you to the product in such a powerful way.
They just announced they’re opening a new flagship retail store in the North Loop next month, right next to MartinPatrick3. It’s that classic Minneapolis ingenuity we love to see—sustainable, stylish, and rooted in our local culture. A huge win for a fantastic local brand.

(4:45) - EVENTS
ALEX: Okay, looking ahead, you are going to want to clear your calendar for next weekend, because one of the city’s most iconic events is back: the Stone Arch Bridge Festival.
It’s happening Friday, June 19th through Sunday, the 21st. It’s the official kickoff to a Minneapolis summer. We’re talking over 200 artists lining the riverfront, a car show, family art activities, and of course, tons of food trucks.
The music lineup this year is fantastic, with two stages featuring all local Minnesota bands. I saw that Bad Bad Hats and Durry are headlining Saturday night, which is going to be an amazing show right on the river.
But the big new thing for 2026 is the "River of Light" drone show. Instead of traditional fireworks, on Saturday night they’re launching 500 light-equipped drones over the Mississippi for a synchronized light show choreographed to music. They did a preview last month and it looked absolutely breathtaking.
It’s free, it’s family-friendly during the day, and it’s just the best celebration of our city’s creative spirit. So grab your friends, walk the bridge, and soak it all in.
And for those looking for a full list of 21+ happenings around the festival and beyond, including info on the city’s coolest cannabis-friendly events and consumption lounges, be sure to visit our sponsor mncannabishub.com.
