Pastor Jared Little, who recently began pastoring the Rochester, MN church, shares his testimony of how he came to know Jesus as his personal Savior but also tells of his reluctance to answer God's call upon his life to enter the ministry. Yes, he was a bit of a Jonah but God won the battle, and now he is serving the Lord with sincerity and passion! We are fortunate to have him and his family here in Minnesota. It is always enlightening, interesting and a blessing to have a conversation with Bob Pickle. He loves to study the Bible and dive "deep" into the Word. He will stretch you and sometimes make you "scratch your head" and you may have to have him repeat the points he is making as it is likely they are very new to you. Pastor Brace is one of the speakers for the breakout sessions we are having at the Minnesota Adventist Campmeeting. I was able to sit down with my recently baptized friend, EJ Rebultan. What a wonderful testimony he shares of how God led him from an empty life of partying and drugs and alcohol, to a joyful life in Jesus! Nathan has been a missionary in Africa for a number of years. He served in the Republic of Congo for approximately 10 years and now is working at the Kibidula Mission in Tanzania. He is currently stateside so I was able interview him in person. He has developed a great deal of expertise in how to have success in growing food in depleted soils which is serving him well as he heads up the agriculture education at Kibidula. He serves there with his wife Starla (Stigge), his on Daniel and his daughter Nastasia. ... Yes, I am very proud of my son! Take a listen and I think you will see why.

In this sermon, Pastor Kratzke presents a timely message on fanaticism.  We are seeing fanaticism both within and without the church. It can occur on the extreme left and the extreme right. You will appreciate his balanced and Biblically sound solution to the problem of fanaticism.

Bernie has been impressed by how God has been faithful to him through the years in  spite of his wanderings at times in his life. Just about 2 years ago God spared Bernie's life when he fell from a deck 11 feet in the air. What a blessing to hear his story beginning during the post-war years when his parents immigrated from Germany to Zimmerman, MN till the present. Bernie now lives near Glacier National Park in Montana with his wife Vicki. If God so wills, I hope to go visit him there someday! If you remember Bernie, why not befriend on FB and reconnect. He is always such a blessing for me to visit with and pray with.

What happens when a Church develops a "Spiritual Autoimmune Disease"? Pastor Kratzke identifies then offers a cure for this disease. Here is a key reference he used in this challenging message:

Love is the basis of godliness. Whatever the profession, no man has pure love to God unless he has unselfish love for his brother. But we can never come into possession of this spirit by trying to love others. What is needed is the love of Christ in the heart. When self is merged in Christ, love springs forth spontaneously. The completeness of Christian character is attained when the impulse to help and bless others springs constantly from within—when the sunshine of heaven fills the heart and is revealed in the countenance. COL 384.2

Today I got a chance to sit down with my Pastor, Joel Kratzke who is new to the Dodge Center/Albert Lea District.
