An LAPD officer asks Ed if they can help.“I think you just did,” says Ed. “Are you a guest at the hotel?” asks the officer. “No,” says Ed. “No, I’m waiting for someone to pick me up.”“And who would that be?” asks the officer. “Um…” says Ed, “my…wife?”“Are you aware, sir, that it’s almost three thirty in the morning?” asks the officer.“Really?” says Ed, looking at his wristwatch. “No, is it that late?”“May I see some identification?” asks the officer.Ed nods, and starts patting his jacket pockets for an ID. Just then, a car honk beeps. It’s Diana, in The King Lives! Cadillac, pulling up next to the patrol car. Diana flashes her sunniest smile. “Is my husband giving you any trouble, Officers?” In the next scene, Ed and Diana are breezing down the street in the Cadillac. “Diana, this guy put a gun in my mouth!” says Ed. “Are you sure he was English?” asks Diana. “Now, you’ve  never heard of this Frenchman?” asks Ed. Diana shakes her head. “I don’t know a Frenchman.”“Uh-huh,” says Ed. “Where are the stones?”“The stones are safe,” says Diana. “It’s alright.”“The stones are safe,” repeats Ed. “What about us? Are we safe?”“Hamid said he’d take care of everything,” says Diana, smiling.
