A surprise reunion at a Wednesday recharge service turns into a moment that still stops us in our tracks. We’re catching up with friends we haven’t seen in years when worship begins, and in a quick, unmistakable flash, God highlights one specific detail: the right side of a woman’s neck. What happens next is a clear example of how a word of knowledge and simple obedience can open the door for someone to experience real hope, not just inspiring talk.

After preaching, we pray and prophesy, and we also walk a newer believer through what it means to be baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues. She doesn’t even know what to call it at first, but the joy on her face says everything. A cast on a Sunday morning doesn’t look like a podcast moment, until it does. We walk up to a security guard at church, notice his hand is in a cast, and ask a simple question that many of us overthink: “Can I pray for you?” What follows is a direct, faith-filled prayer asking Jesus for a new hand, spoken without fanfare and without any big emotional rush.

She would not look at me. She would not tell me what was wrong. She was angry, shut down, and convinced prayer would not help, and that is exactly why this story hits so hard. After a miracle healing service, I approach a visiting woman and meet a wall of rejection and frustration that feels bigger than any physical symptom. 

What finally comes out is heartbreak: her grandchildren were taken by DHS years earlier, she raised them, and now she fears losing them again. The conversation turns into a real-time collision of trauma, injustice, and spiritual need. She walks toward the front with broken ribs and can barely breathe, and then it happens so fast it interrupts everything: “I can breathe, I can breathe.” We tell the full story from a Wednesday night recharge service where a simple question about pain opens the door to a dramatic healing testimony that’s as practical as it is spiritual.

A stranger shows up to a midweek service, and within minutes we are talking about a very specific problem: pain on the right side of her neck. After preaching, I look at her and ask the question out loud, then I invite her to step forward with a simple promise that’s either true or it isn’t: the kingdom of God will meet her and she will be healed. The testimony that follows is immediate, concrete, and hard to ignore if you’ve ever lived with chronic pain or carried a quiet, private ache into church. 

Then the moment expands. My husband notices she has pain throughout her body, and we move from a single area of discomfort to prayer with authority in the name of Jesus. A man stands up in a small Kansas church and asks for help with “four things” and what follows is a lightning-round testimony of prayer for healing that keeps escalating.
