What are social determinants of health, and how do they influence disproportionate rates of diseases? What is the source of bias against minorities within the medical community? How does this affect the way minority communities perceive medicine? This week, we wanted to dive deeper into some of the public health disparities we have seen with COVID today, and talk about what they are, where they originate from, and how they relate to mistrust in the medical field. Since there is so much information within this topic, we decided to emphasize a few major social determinants of health.
