Editorial Reviews:
Unfortunately for Keith, hes got a couple of misery guts for parents. Nothing seems to get them to smile and they are always sad and full of dejection. Misery Guts written and performed with a cheerful enthusiasm by award-winning childrens author Morris Gleitzman, is the funny story of Keith and his clumsy but well-intentioned attempts to cheer up his parents. The problem, Keith finally realizes, is the drab and dull setting of England. This epiphany sets off a hilarious chain of events as Keith tries his best to get his family to relocate to the beautiful Australia.

Misery Guts
Misery Guts means sad, unhappy, or dejected, or so it seems. In the book Misery Guts a boy named Keith is growing up, trying to make his parent's smile and be happy. But, nothing will work. England is where they live, and it's just too boring and unhappy. So when Keith tries to make his parent's smile, he's never far from trouble. Then, he finds a tropical paradise called Australia. He knows that it is the place that can make his parents smile and be happy. He begs his parents to go, but they say no, no, and no! But, when Keith burns down his house and shop, they have nowhere to stay. So will Keith ever make his parent's smile by convincing them to move to Australia or will he and everyone else be a Misery Gut forever! This book was for me. When I read this book ,it shouted amazing, exciting, cool, fun and one of a kind!
Misery Guts
I like Misery Guts although this was not my favorite book, but I still have some things I like and dilike about this book.
Why do I have some dislikes, because this book took place in a different place than what I live in. They spoke with a English accent since they lived in England. Some other reasons I disliked this story is because this book got boring in most parts but not all of them. The last thing has to do with the beging was a little boring.
Things I liked about this book were that it was very interesting in most parts of the story also. Like when Keith came home from Austrailia. Some other things I liked in the story are that I learned the English accent even though it was hard reading.
In conclusion, I had some ways I disliked the story, but all in all it was a good story
Misery Guts
I liked this entire book, but it starts out slow. I sortof liked it starting out slow because it got me more interested in the book to see if it would get more interesting, and it did. You see they live in London, but something happens that causes them to move. Then, they go to Austrailia. But, to get morre details on this amazing book and adventure, you have to read the book, from front to back. I liked this book because it is unpredictable. Also, it has a lot of different words in it, so it enriches your vocabulary. I would reccomend this book, if you like books that you can't tell what will happen next. Also, if you like books that are an adventure.
