I'm about 10 years ago I got a phone call from a gentleman that just inherited some money from a family member that had passed. And as we talked he told me he was ready to start a restaurant, a chicken restaurant matter of fact. He was telling me he wanted to know the basic fundamentals of starting a business and everything, so I started going through all of the different kind of strategies and all the different kind of information he needed in order to start a business. That conversation start going South very quickly. what's the conversation started talking about planning and strategizing the client quickly drive the subject and want to talk about how good his chicken was. am I doing medical research for planet I quickly phone number in my service off of failure he began to ignore me and make all the excuses because he told me he didn't have time to do other homework he had the money in his pocket. He was ready to make a move cuz he's been dreaming about this stuff for years. people always filled it will be a unique it ain't no one admit that they are a lot of them out there in the world.

tell me about heard the rappers talk about the other rapper took his style not realizing with over a billion people in the United States of America they took somebody style thousand people style already have to come to the realization that you're not unique it's all really about who come to market first.

There's no rationale in your thinking

you're taking a chance if you go under the assumption that everything will go your way

You function the state of not knowing the marketer in

you have no knowledge of the outside variables that can affect your life

you blindly believe that faith or your belief will shape your future instead of thinking of real factors that can actually make those changes

You have a lot of time some people say I'm a little I pray on it I'll let the lord take care of it without any take taking any time to do any homework or any kind of research or gather any kind of knowledge about the situation of the subject

taking a chance just like playing Russian roulette with your life your family your health or anything that's important to you

you know what you hear about a soft or soft drink company was thinking about pushing out a new flavor and they start doing a couple a little research or maybe from a cup of focus group get a couple people together from tastings go around to different places do different poles and the gathering information they kind of give their ideas together and see how much they can sell that product for go to that analysis and still do a little bit more focus groups in more meetings and if not, they gather that information they make a decision and it will a bus taking a risk.

when you take a calculated risk you done reasonable due diligence to gather information before you make any kind of decision

you've got two times and research got trusted advisers, people, to trust people experience on a particular subject to help you formulate some kind of decision

you seek out some of the best advice as possible to give you the best information to make a decision

like most good decision-makers you still go off your intuition but it's after use gathered information are you not going on lucky you're going on your experience

of course, you stepping out on faith but you also put yourself in a situation where you can gather information that can be tracked information that can be measured information that you can actually look back on to see if you're improving

You also want to give your children enough autonomy to make decisions, make mistakes, and learn from them.

There has to be a path for them to grow into a thinking adult.

Parents keep in mind, your children do listen to what you say. But most importantly, they see what you do.

I struggled with this when I would push entrepreneurship so much on my sons, and I hadn’t committed to it. Even though I was semi successful handling both a job and businesses, I just felt funny. But my children never said anything to me about it.

My personal philosophy with parenting from a respect/fear perspective

I’m very structured, but I stress communication. But my home is not a democracy.

Thin line to walk as a parent

I believe the greatest gift a parent can give their child is the ability to think. Not follow the crowd, not follow mom and dad, but to know how to listen well, how to gather information, how to process information, and then make sound decision.
