Welcome back to the Your Number One Fan podcast, this is episode nine with the lovely Carolyn!

"I am a 28 year old Special Education teacher in an inner city elementary school. I have a pug named Tank, and I was recently diagnosed with OCD, anxiety, and depression.

Within the past year, I was diagnosed by my therapist with anxiety, depression, and misophonia.
After a lot of contemplation, I decided to consult a psychiatrist to see if medicine was a route that would work for me. This past year has been a whirlwind to say the least. I have changed medicines 3 different times, diagnosed with OCD, and had many highs in lows in the process. Through this I have learned the different ups and downs to medications with mental health, as well as navigating personal and work relationships with a disorder. I have had many hard conversations regarding mental health and advocating for myself, even when it may be uncomfortable, especially in the workplace. I believe that mental health is often overlooked in today’s society, especially in the workforce, and I
aim to do what I can to promote conversations around mental health in the workplace."


In this episode, Carolyn shares her journey with diagnosis, therapy, medication, and how it has impacted her relationship and career. And shout out to her grandmother for her support and love along the way!!
