Welcome to 'Scenes from Adulting,' where I'm your host, Louisa April, and today's journey through the maze of adulthood explores the beautifully intricate layers of love. Join me as we learn how love, in all its forms, is a profound teacher on this rollercoaster of growing up.
As we ride the train of life through different stations, accompanied by the soulful acoustic sounds of Yebba's 'My Mind,' we'll reflect on the way love touches our lives. It's a lesson in itself—how love is never static, always evolving, and never truly leaves us. Instead, it transforms us, making us wiser and more resilient.
I share a poignant poem I wrote in February of 2014 titled 'I Have Written Bibles in Your Name,' and delve into the emotions and lessons of a time when I was in love with a basketball player and danced in a rose garden. LOL. I reflect on how love can transform us and the beautiful, yet sometimes bittersweet, memories it leaves behind.
Throughout the episode, I contemplate the changes and growth I've experienced over the past nine years, and how my perspective on love and self-discovery has evolved.
Love, to me now, is a boundless wellspring, something to be shared and celebrated rather than a singular source of life. It's abundant and beautiful, even in its silence.
I'll also share a moment of missing someone from my past and how it led me to appreciate the love I have now, overflowing in ways I couldn't have imagined. In the end, I've come to believe that giving all of yourself away is the true magic of life, and it's a lesson I'd pass on to my daughter.
So, join me on this journey of self-discovery, reflection, and the profound beauty of love's echoes. Your presence here matters, and I hope you find inspiration and healing in this episode.
Don't forget to subscribe, and let's navigate the rollercoaster of adulthood together, one story at a time. Also do the cool things on Social Media @LouisaApril everywhere you are not listening to this. K, Cool, Happy Adulting.
Thank you for listening
