This week, we continue our fairly broken up series of films from the Coen Brothers. We started at their first film, and we're making our way through the 90's. This week, we watch the film that won the Palm D'Or at the Cannes Film Festival that year. Does that mean it's one of the Coens most art-house offerings? Some of us would say yes. Barton Fink (1991), directed by the Coen Brothers.
This week, we hop off the horror movie train to see a documentary that has some of the best marketing and trailers of recent years. This film is raking it in at the box office despite its documentary premise and being 3 hours long, and it also has some of the best reviews of the year from both critics and audiences. This one has to be experienced. You Can See Everything (2026), directed by Lance Oppenheim and Nathan Fielder.
This week, we continue with our scary movie month with a more modern classic that might have flown under some people's radars. This film is a vampire movie at its core, but the atmosphere is the real standout. There might not be a better film that depicts a snowy, freezing environment. Let The Right One In (2008), directed by Tomas Alfredson.
This week, we continue with our scary movie month with a classic we've referenced more times than we can count. Kick starting the careers of Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, and even Joel Coen, this film is scrappy as hell, overly violent, intentially and unintentionally hilarious, and worthy of all the praise its received over the years. The Evil Dead (1981), directed by Sam Raimi.
This week, it's the best month of the year - October! You know that means it's time for scary movies. We are lucky enough to have a good reason to head to the theater with Zach Cregger's new film Resident Evil. Will Zach go three-for-three with his horror run? Spoilers - Yes, yes he will. Resident Evil (2026), directed by Zach Cregger.

This week, we continue with our Coen Brothers kick. Their third film moves from the dark noir of Blood Simple and the Looney Tunes style live-action comedy of Raising Arisona to something in between. This film is the first of the Coen's career that melds genres in a way that few others can. Miller's Crossing (1990), directed by the Coen Brothers.
This week, we continue with our Coen Brothers kick. Their second film moves from the dark noir of Blood Simple to a Looney Tunes style live-action comedy. Some critics originally criticized this films over-the-top nature, but if you can get past the non-realism and complete genre change from the brothers, this is one hilarious ride. Also one of Nic Cages best, most reined in performance. Raising Arizona (1987), directed by the Coen Brothers.
