Mission: Nexus

It's October 2nd as I write this. This episode has been done for two weeks now, and I just couldn't motivate myself to post it. Mission: Nexus is coming to an end, but our love of WildStar remains. We're still players, we just don't have the time to produce the podcast anymore. It's not you, it's us. We promise.

I've turned over in my head what I would say in this post when the day came. All I've come up with is Thank You. Thank you to our fans, thank you to Carbine, and thank you for all of the fond memories, laughs and fun over the last 18 months. This experience has been incredible, and we will forever be grateful for your support. See you on Nexus. We'll bring the Space Bacon.

We're back, and boy do we have some big topics to cover! Carbine announced that WildStar will be moving to Megaservers in an upcoming change, and the crew gives our thoughts on what that means for the game, players and the future of WildStar. PAX Prime happened, and we got some new, juicy details out of the event regarding a solo dungeon: Omni-Core 1. Unfortunately, it's not all good news this episode, as we discuss the depature of Jeremy Gaffney. We also want to give a special thanks to Arawulf, whose support of Carbine and WildStar, as well as the community is appreciated. We'll miss you Mike, but there's always a chair here if you feel the itch to talk WildStar on a podcast in the future. Thanks not only for your support and encouragement, but your friendship.

Long-time listeners are going to enjoy this one. The Crew decided to take a night and just chat like the good old days. No segments, no crazy over-production, just a good old conversation about WildStar. We cover what we've been up to (or not up to, as it were.) We also talk a bit about the Gamescom reveals of Shade's Eve, The Defile and changes to the Silver Dungeon Attunement step. Hey, look! Mission: Nexus is publishing really late again. Shocker. Well this time I have a valid excuse involving a talking raccoon and a downright heartwarming tree. Either way, the irony of this show's topic isn't lost on us. That's right, we're talking about time management. How do you balance playing an MMO like WildStar alongside your regular responsibilities? The crew gives you our tried-and-true methods, along with some tips to effectively spend your time in the game as well! We've got some fun letters from our listeners this time around, and a tolerable D&D regarding alternate theme songs for the game's various zones! Let's face it, nobody's perfect. WildStar and Carbine are pretty darn close, though! Of course, there's always going to be some things in any MMO that annoy players, and the WildStar is no exception. So at the risk of tarnishing our "fanboy" image, the Mission: Nexus crew decided to take an episode to discuss some of the small things in WildStar that bug us. (Spoiler Alert: We still love the game like a tubby kid loves cake.) Of course, we keep the criticism constructive, so don't expect epic levels of angry forum poster rage. We don't roll that way (and neither should you!). Outside of that, we have our usual run of segments lined up. Players saw the loot changes implemented to Dungeons and Adventures this week, so Datix and Domichi return with D&D to give our thoughts on them. Cacuin brings us another edition of This Old Housing Plot, giving you the skinny on Plugs, and we respond to our listener mail in the Mailbag segment. It's a jam-packed episode, weighing in at just under an hour and half!

We chat about what we've been up to and our thoughts on The Strain, along with responding to some listener emails and the general chit-chat you've come to tolerate. Also, Skya debuts with her new segment on lore, telling us a bit more about the significance of the Brightland name in the WildStar universe. Well, we're late. Other than a 48-hour Internet outage at Datix's house, there's not a great excuse for it. The siren call of Nexus sang it's way into my brain and shut down my responsibility receptors, and what free time I had was spent playing WildStar. He's a great friend of ours, and we're honored he took the time to join us for a discussion of whether or not we feel WildStar is poised to succeed. As always, Datix and Domichi, everyone's favorite podcast duo returns to bring you our look at the recently announced realm names. But stick around people, because the end of the show isn't just the same old Twitter info. There's a bit of a twist this time around, and if you've listened to us for a while, I think you're in for a shock.

So we all have one: The Launch Week Ritual. Maybe you take time off of work to play. Perhaps you tell your family and friends that you love them, but you can't see them again for some time. Of course, it could be that you just hit the grocery store and buy pallets of caffeinated beverages, chips and antacids.
