Mission: Uplift

We’re starting off 2021 with a theme and focus of Uplifting Prayer. On Monday nights we have live teaching on prayer on YouTube and we’re also sharing weekly podcast episodes with interviews and testimonies on prayer. 

Our first Uplifting Prayer interview is with my Mom, Alison Roth, who has been an example as a woman of prayer in my own life for as long as I can remember. I am the product of a praying mother and I am grateful for the opportunity to share our conversation (recorded before the end of the year). I pray it encourages you on your prayer journey. 

This has been a heartbreaking week. We are praying, lamenting, grieving, and calling on the name of Jesus. If you need prayer, especially in light of this week’s events, please feel free to submit a prayer request on our website. Details about an upcoming Zoom prayer meeting will be posted on our social media soon.

Episode 025 | Uplifting Advent | Panel Discussion

This past Monday night was the final week of our Uplifting Advent series. I’m excited to share a portion of our conversation with you. Christian Williams, Brandi Benson, Angela Cirocco, and I gathered in the virtual Mission: Uplift living room for a discussion on love. I know you’re going to enjoy it.

Though Uplifting Advent has come to a close, it’s just the beginning of Monday night live streams on YouTube! Mission: Uplift is starting off the year with a month of Uplifting Prayer. Episode 024 | Uplifting Advent | Angela Cirocco

We’ve had a wonderful couple of weeks in our Uplifting Advent series on YouTube. This past Monday, Angela Cirocco taught on the fight for joy and it brings me great joy to share it with you here.

Angela Cirocco loves Jesus and dark roast coffee, in that order. She moved to Texas from Buffalo, NY 5 years ago and still can't get enough of Tex-Mex. The unexpected joy of her life is serving as the Minister to Women at Northwest Bible Church in Dallas.

Angela has a Masters from Dallas Theological Seminary and a Bachelors in Nursing from Roberts Wesleyan College. No matter the setting, she delights to walk with women as they discover Jesus' love and grace. She praises God for air conditioning in the Texas summers, and come fall, Angela roots for the Buffalo Bills while yearning for the majestic colorful leaves of the Northeast. She misses snow only in December.

Brandi Benson shared a rich message on peace in our second week of Uplifting Advent, a live four-week teaching series on YouTube. I am excited to share it with you here.

Brandi Benson is a disciple, a wife, a mother, a teacher, and a social media holdout. The story of God told by God fascinates her endlessly. She is a lover of stories and storytellers and a book hoarder with no hope of recovery.

How do we battle for hope when we’re struggling with hopelessness? What do we do when grief and despair takes over and we’re unable to get out of bed in the morning? 

Christian Williams shared a powerful and transparent message on the battle for hope in our first week of our live teaching series on YouTube, Uplifting Advent. You definitely want to take the time out of your day to listen to this message… 

Christian Williams is just a girl trying to laugh while she follows Jesus. A grad of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she went on to earn a Master of Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary. Christian yearns for people to press hard into the freedom and joy of trusting Jesus in all things and is deeply committed to making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ultimately, she want to see believers know and love their neighbor because they know and love Jesus.

Christian currently serves on staff at Christ Community Church as the Director of Women’s Discipleship in Fayetteville, AR where she gets to equip women to own their place within the body of Christ through rootedness in Scripture, intentional relationships that sharpen them as image bearers, and service to the church and to the city. She’s also the co-host of the Bad Seminarians podcast. Things that give her life: conversations, friendships, baking desserts and eating desserts, and creating content. And you can always hear her singing.

Episode 020 | Uplifting Planning | Darian Wilson

There is so much packed in today’s episode (and in the bonus episode right after this!). And it’s not going to be what you think at all. Darian Wilson and I had an amazing chat about planning with hope in the midst of 2020 as well as testimonies about God’s surprises at the most unexpected and unplanned times this year. We talk a bunch about Jesus, community, Target, and then had an afterparty with more Jesus and shared our deep appreciation and love for our sister circle.
