In this final chapter of 1 Corinthians, Paul gives Christ followers instruction on giving to the Lord, his travel plans, and how they should continue to live faithfully to the Lord. He tells them to be watchful, to stand firm in their faith, and to do all things in love, by serving others.

The resurrection of Jesus is the hope of every believer. It’s the undeniable reality we all live in. The resurrection gives us the hope that this life is not all there is. We are heaven-bound. There is something uniquely powerful that happens when Christians gather for worship. God is at work building up and strengthening His people, the Church! In this passage, Paul is adamant that nothing should detract from the primary purpose of the worship service, and he provides several guidelines for the specific situation in Corinth. Most of the population in our country would agree that the division has been at its highest level in the past decade. There is an answer to ending the division, and that is “One heart change at a time.” The love of God can change anyone! How do we do this? When we choose to love someone by acting in their best interest according to 1 Corinthians 13, it will bring about change.

Have you ever had thoughts like, “I’m just not gifted enough to serve God?” Fact - everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ has been given gifts by the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 12:11). There are three places in the New Testament where spiritual gifts are mentioned, but the list in 1 Corinthians 12 are specific to empower every person to glorify God and encourage His people.

It has been said that people who do not know the Lord need to see the Gospel as equally as they hear the Gospel. When people visit the church, they should sense a genuine love for one another among the people, good character, and hear truth. People in Corinth had lost their way from living a life of self-sacrifice.
