Harmony Day is this Thursday, and the Forum on Australia’s Islamic Relations will run an event that will see 200 students from schools in greater Geelong gather to discuss the big issues facing youth. The discussion will feature a panel of talented young leaders hosted by Hamish Macdonald (from The Project). Event organiser Kuranda Seyit said, “This is the first time an event of this kind is being held in Geelong, its going to be exciting and no doubt will provide us with a lot of insight into what our youth are thinking.  It’s called Your Choice Our Future, because the decisions we make impacts on everyone in our community and our society.  I’m so pleased that it will be moderated by Hamish Macdonald.” The other panelists include:  Jemma Ryan (Journalist), Sara Mansour (Lawyer), Tina Hosseini (Commissioner, Vic. Multicultural Commission), Kareem Elansary (UN youth rep.) and Yong Deng (Community Youth Leader). The event will also feature comedians and some of the best spoken word artists in Australia. The event titled, “YOUR CHOICE, OUR FUTURE YOUTH LEADERS DAY” starts at 11am on Thursday 21 March 2019 at the Geelong Regional Library. To register, please email [email protected].
