“For many Australians, behaviours like recycling, avoiding single use plastics, and reducing their home energy and water consumption have become second nature, at least most of the time,” says Veronica Mayne, Managing Director of Faster Horses Consulting. “Interestingly, adoption of sustainable behaviours is highest amongst those 55+ years and lowest amongst those 18 -34 years,” she said. “This younger group might be termed “Slacktivists” – there’s plenty of lip service but little follow through.”
