Zena Cumpston is a Barkandji woman who has compiled a booklet on Aboriginal plants. She spoke to the program to offer Indigenous perspectives of biodiversity in urban areas. Zena is a Research Fellow (Urban Environments), Clean Air Urban Landscapes Hub, University of Melbourne. In October last year we spoke to 16 year old Lauren Newell in the studio about her fight with brain cancer. Lauren was a keen and vocal advocate for people living with brain cancer. Sadly, Lauren passed away seven weeks ago just after her 17th birthday but her family is continuing the fight.
