Psychic Mirrors - Obatala (Souls on Fire)

​​Following the release of their debut LP, Nature of Evil, The Psychic Mirrors frontman, Mickey de Grand IV, began producing tracks for acclaimed artists such as SZA, ABRA, and Denzel Curry, serving their infectious hybrid of spooky, contemporary funk and 80s pastiche to larger audiences. With Obatala (Souls on Fire), the Miami six-piece band deftly channel Rick James, E.S.G., and Tom Tom Club to create a spooky Halloween funk delight. Vocalist, Myra Stone screams, “Souls on fire, I’m going to take you higher!” and it’s hard not to believe her.
