Panda Bear & Sonic Boom - Edge of the Edge

Each gaining notoriety as psychedelic masters from their individual bands Animal Collective and Spaceman 3, Noah Lennox and Peter Kember went on to improve upon their sounds on solo projects as Panda Bear and Sonic Boom, respectively. Since then, the two have collaborated with artists including Beach House, Stereolab, Daft Punk, Neutral Milk Hotel and MGMT, to name a few. Coincidentally, both artists left their homes in the US and UK to live in Portugal so it’s not surprising that these two experimental, indie-psych masters would find each other and come together to create beautiful music. On their supergroup album Reset, Edge of the Edge perfectly encapsulates their brand of mid-sixties pastiche with Noah Lennox’s nimble tenor doubled up to emulate Brian Wilson over a cascade of twinkling synths, barber shop quartet chants, reverbed clapping, and the squelching tones of a dial up modem.
