How to Become a Midwife ~

Three things are going on in this podcast.

 1) facial tattoos, what's "appropriate" on a mixed-race woman, and what's not culturally appropriating on a "Rainbow White" person like myself.  We both see ourselves marked as other, and for myself, "healer" (y'all know how I feel about that term) so we chat about navigating that, and decide next time she's in town its happening!

2) midwifery ed, CNM vs CPM, pros and cons and not even knowing if that's a fit cause everyone is white-passing as hell when she looks at her local birth community. And. did I mention she had a homebirth at age 16?

Being mixed invites comments from every angle. 

Being mixed means your appearance makes people just comfortable enough to voice watered down opinions. 

Being mixed comes with the weight of choices laced with disappointment.
