The last time I gave my Michigan Wolverines a MadMizzy Sports special was when we lost to the Michigan State Spartans 27-24 at home during the pandemic season. I was questioning if Jim Harbaugh was the right coach for the job, if he could eventually beat his rivals of Michigan State and Ohio State. Jim Harbaugh, I apologize for questioning your ability at all. In the last two season John Harbaugh has lead the Michigan Wolverines to a 24-2 record overall, a 19-1 Big Ten conference record, and a 5-1 record against Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan State. Including a dominant win in Columbus, Ohio over the number 2 Ohio State Buckeyes lead by sophomore quarterback JJ McCarthy. I absolutely loved the move of Jim Harbaugh starting JJ over Cade McNamara this year because of the upside. Yesterday afternoon we seen the full display of the gamebreaking ability of JJ McCarthy going 12-24 263 passing yards and 3 tds all for 45 yards or more, the first time a quarterback on either side has did that. The young JJ McCarthy was partnered with the sophomore running back Donovan Edwards who had 22 Carrie’s for 216 yards and two runs of 75 yards and 85 yards, the first time any Michigan running back has accomplished that feat in this series. But this blowout wasn’t all the offense, the defense only allowed 3 points in the entire second half of yesterdays gamete at being a field goal that came with 7:23 left in the fourth quarter. Mike Sainristil who replaced first round pick, Daxton Hill, from last year and converted wide receiver gave an impassioned speech to start the fourth quarter and proceeded by playing huge the entire fourth quarter including a late fourth quarter pass defense that saved a touchdown. With this dominant win by the Michigan Wolverines without Heisman candidate Blake Curom, does Ohio State still deserve to be in the college football playoffs. GO BLUE!
