Hello fellow Mortals!

In this episode, I read-aloud the prologue of my Iliad/Odyssey inspired novel Epic of Helinthia.
Epic of Helinthia is book 1 of an epic fantasy series about a war between the Olympian gods and the mortals caught in their storm.

I hope you will stay tuned for more chapters. Coming soon!

Epic of Helinthia and its sequel, Oracle of Helinthia, are available to purchase from my website at mjpankey.com.

Book 3, War of Helinthia is now available for pre-order.

You can also purchase signed copies directly from me, the author, in my ko-fi shop, as well as ebooks.

Hello fellow Mortals!

In this episode, I read-aloud a short story about an archeological team who excavates a pharaoh's tomb and finds startling discoveries. Told from the point of view of Jen, a junior archeologist, and the pharaoh himself.

This piece is intended to be read through a philosophical lens more than a historical one. But I hope that the latter is not found wanting.

Hello fellow mortals!

In this episode I read aloud a flash fiction piece I wrote for Band of Bards The Dark Side of Purity Vol. 3 E-zine, called "Body at the Beach". It was published in 2021 and was part of an exclusive publication for Kickstarter backers for their phyiscal volumes of The Dark Side of Purity Vols 1 & 2.

I hope this story sparks discussion around the dangers of purity culture, for both women and men. I hope you enjoy!

Hello fellow Mortals!

In this episode, I read-aloud my short story called "Bay of Blood". This story reimagines the historical naval battle of Salamis in 480 BCE from Queen Artemisia's perspective.

The battle of Salamis was a naval battle that took place in 480 BCE between the free Greeks and Persia and is considered one of the most crucial battles in history. I've added a fantastical twist that, of course, includes the Greek gods.

Hello fellow Mortals!

In this episode, I read-aloud my first ever publication, a short story called "Before Gods". This is a Cronos and Rhea Greek myth retelling envisioned in a way that 'might' have actually happened in humanity's pre-historical past.

"Before Gods" was first published by Brigids Gate Press in their anthology Musings of the Muses, along with 64 other short stories and poems by amazing authors.
